Introducing fwbworship.com
For several years, the NAFWB Music Commission has been exploring options and discussing ways we could encourage and equip Free Will Baptist worship leaders over the next decade. The launch of fwbworship.com is the culmination of many months of discussion, prayer, and project work, and we’re just getting started!
Free Will Baptist Worship Leaders
Our focus is to resource Free Will Baptist worship leaders who serve their churches in part-time or volunteer positions. According to recent reports from the Committee on Denominational Research, that target group includes approximately 94% of our churches. Only six percent employ personnel full-time whose primary responsibility is the ministry of worship.
Full-time church musicians typically have the time and available budget to search out the information and help they need. The truth is most of the worship ministry resources available in the marketplace are created for larger, more developed programs. So the part-time and volunteer worship leaders can be frustrated trying to find tools designed with them in mind. Which brings us back to the 94% of Free Will Baptist churches, and you as an everyday person leading worship in your church.
Who is this for?
If you identify yourself in that 94%, this website is for you. Regardless of age, experience, training or preference of styles – our hope is to build fwbworship.com into a useful tool for you. We intend to involve a wide array of experienced Free Will Baptist musicians who will speak to a growing scope of needs for which we find we can provide assistance.
We’re creating new resources.
New resources are being created – articles, blogs, training videos, music, and more. Additionally we are working with our Free Will Baptist partner agencies to provide access to numbers of articles and other resources previously published by them, but lost to current usage in their archived editions beyond the awareness of our current and future every day worship leaders.
Take a couple of minutes to browse through some of the training videos we’ve already posted. What you find currently available here is only the beginning. The Music Commission has considered the overall framework needed to get started, but that will also allow the ongoing expansion and addition of resources for you.
There’s more to come.
This will be a dynamic project for many years. We realize we do not even fully grasp the potential for how this can benefit you. For me personally, it’s very exciting. As I introduced the website to the 2020 session of the National Association, I said that this website offers the potential for the greatest impact on our churches’ worship ministries since the release of the Rejoice! Hymn Book over 30 years ago.
Our plan is to provide fresh, helpful content at least twice a month. Click here to receive a free resource, which will sign you up to be notified anytime new content is available.
